Trying to tie my tattoo idea together.?
This may make little to no sense =)
On my left side I plan on getting a sort of fairy tale forest scene, very feminine and soft. Think Very Old books where the drawings look almost woodblock-y, colors faded and all. I know that I want a deer, maybe another (a baby) curled up on the ground (very bambi-esque I know). There will be flowers and a few small birds flying around. I want the outline in brown and only certain things to have color/shading.
Does anyone have any input as to what I could add? My main question…how should I tie it all together so that it doesn’t just look…there? If that makes sense. I don’t necessarily want a “border” per say, but that’s the best way to describe what I mean. So sorry for the lengthy post. Thanks so much for any input =)

find a good artist whos style you like and they can create the scene and together you can choose placment and what will look best for the “border” and shape so it looks good “there”
they’ll try to make it go with the shape of your body where it will be tattooed… tattoo artists are good at this because well, it’s what they do..
Well, as far as a border, you could always have a tree on one side, which would border off the side (with slight shading for a fade out-ish look) and then some fading on the other side…
Really, just set a date with your artist to brainstorm. They’ll come up with something great for you to pick apart, and then put it to paper.
When I met with my artist, he was able to explain to me why a background or fading at all would ruin the overall image of the tattoo I had designed. Sometimes things just look better freestanding.
Good luck!
Sounds great! I always wondered this, if ever I go for a scene, how to finish it at the edges, as I think it can often look a bit strange having the ink just abruptly fading out. You say you don’t want a border, but have you actually considered the types of border you could have? I think what you’re describing would actually look great and very unusual if you did place it in an oval border, perhaps art nouveau sort of style, fancy and flourishy, almost like you had a picture hanging on your skin. It’s probably a marmite sort of idea (love it or hate it!) but I think it would look great, here’s the kind of style I’m on about:

The best thing to do is go to your artist, they are very creative and come up with amazing ideas. As for the outline being in brown, most artists will not outline in any color but black, as other colors fade a lot faster.
